November Wrap-Up, Emily Gushes

All hail Eloisa James. Then save some genuflecting for five other great authors. I mean, seriously… Kwitney, Caskie, Carmichael, Rosenthal, and Rodale… wow! All in one month. Yes, it’s been a banner month for Wax authors, and let’s begin with the glittering fourth installment in Eloisa James’s Desperate Duchesses series, When the Duke Returns. Timed to support this new book release, Wax helped Eloisa launch her newly-organized and newly-designed Members-Only Readers Pages. If you aren’t signed up (it’s FREE, whatareyouwaitingfor??), click over now. Bonus Value-Add Online Content: Eloisa’s has written a fabulous new off-site article on Georgian fashion over on hubpages.com. Don’t miss it.

Also spectacular is Kathryn Caskie’s To Sin With a Stranger, the first in her brand new series: The Seven Sins. I will taunt you with the neener-neener that I got to read this book a few months ago. I had a lot of work to do, but blew it all off to finish this book. I can’t wait for the next one. Here’s hoping I get it early, because I am just that kind of impatient reader. Bonus Value-Add Online Content: get your free downloadable bookmark extravaganza, also featuring Julia Quinn, Samantha James, and Elizabeth Boyle.

Sucker for sweet, family-oriented holiday stories? I am. And CJ Carmichael rounds out her Three Good Men trilogy with Christmas with Daddy. CJ welcomed this book with a refreshed design on her home page, better, more accessible layouts on her book pages, and Bonus Value-Add Online Content: her new blog. Keep up with it in Wax’s blogging client feed just to your right.

Next, Alisa Kwitney hits with Token, a wonderful Young Adult graphic novel. Alisa knows comics, and this one delivers. Alisa and Wax timed an AlisaKwitney.com redesign with Token’s release — check out the new masthead! Bonus Value-Add Online Content: the excerpt is visual.

And now we get to the two books currently on my bedside table: Maya Rodale’s The Rogue And The Rival and Pam Rosenthal’s The Edge of Impropriety. I am reading Maya’s book first as it is a sequel and as confessed above, I am impatient. How Maya will redeem this hero has had me raising a brow for over a year. I am one chapter in and damning the myriad things keeping me from finishing it (if only the Eloisa books had gone faster over the holiday I could have gotten further into Maya’s… Alas, alas.) Maya’s Bonus Value-Add Online Content: her online serial is finally concluded. Darcy Darlington is a wonderful heroine. I have a feeling we will see more from her.

And then finally, the book I will save for the holidays when I will theoretically have more free time: The Edge of Impropriety. Pam Rosenthal consistently turns out some of the most well-written fiction on the market. Her sentences are works of art, and she makes me blush as I read, and I am not referring to her Molly Weatherfield books (though goodness, Molly is a piece of work!). I caught myself petting the book in anticipation the other day. Bonus Value-Add Online Content: Pam started a fabulous and insightful blog a few months ago. (How good is it? My dad subscribed to her RSS feed.)

Phew. I am exhausted with all that adoration. You, too? Well, brace for seven awesome online excerpts, newly posted inside the last month:

Hope Tarr posted an excerpt from her almost-out contemporary novel, Every Breath You Take…

Samantha James posted a sneak peek excerpt from her upcoming book, Bride of a Wicked Scotsman, the final installment in her current trilogy.

Read an excerpt from Zamora’s Ultimate Challenge, a children’s book written under Michele Scott’s pseudonym, M.K. Scott.

Check out a Sneak Peek of Sophia Nash’s next release ~ Love With the Perfect Scoundrel.

Alisa Kwitney posted a sneak peek for her upcoming paranormal, The Better to Hold You, which will come out under her sci-fi alter ego Alisa Sheckley

Monica McCarty posted an excerpt from Highland Warrior, the first book in her new Campbell trilogy.

Joy Nash posts a second sneak peek excerpt from Immortals: The Reckoning, the much-anticipated anthology of sexy, action-packed novellas by three USA Today bestselling authors. Yes, this is the follow-up to last year’s smash.

So many great things to read. Better get moving, because I will be back in a month with more to report.
