Last week WordPress officially dropped support for IE6. I am shocked! Not that they abandoned the dinosaur, but that it took them this long! We stopped testing for it two years ago.
But then I went to this site: The Internet Explorer Countdown, subtitled: Moving the world off of Internet Explorer 6. And I wonder what’s going on in in places where the percentage of people on IE6 exceeds 10%. With the Western World below 5%, I look at China (34%!) and South Korea (23%) and India (11%) and I wonder if there is a cultural tendency to avoid technological change.
Regardless, Waxcreative officially joins the cause. If you can see the bright orange banner below, please, for the love all all things digital, UPGRADE! It’s FREE!

It’s interesting that the country that has the highest number of Internet users is so behind on upgrading their browsers.
Down with IE6!
